What is bible journaling?

I have been bible journaling for three days now, and I have to say that it is the most fun way I have found to study the word of God. I get to express my creativity, use bright colors, and I am absorbing and retaining His word more than ever! So what the heck is it?? You can see a copy of one of my pages below :)

This is actually super easy to do! Decide what passage you are going to be reading that day, and pull out your supplies! You can use whatever you want, and believe it or not, if you google this you'll find that a lot of people are way craftier than me! I am using the SOAK method to study, and following the bible reading plan on www.goodmorninggirls.org :) I highly recommend it because it is totally free and comes with study questions, verses to memorize, and a community to engage with!

What is the SOAK method?

S- Scripture. Here you are reading the scripture, and pulling out a couple of key phrases that speak to you! You can write them however you want, but really find a couple that you identify with and that show you the power of God.
O- Observation. What is something that you noticed in the passage? Think outside of the box, and read the study notes below the passage if you have a study bible. What is happening? What are people doing?
A- Application. How can you apply this to your life? What changes can you make, and what promises is God giving you for the things happening to you today?
K- Kneeling. If you can, get down on your knees and pray to God. I like to write down my prayer (I didn't on this page, but I started doing it today!) and then talk to God about what I just read!

Try this method, but remember that it is just a tool! Just find a way that works for you on your walk with God! If you want to learn a little bit more, visit the website above! It's seriously a wonderful way to connect, and it's where I learned all these principles! I am in no way an affiliate for Good Morning Girls, but I am a Jesus lover and it's a great resource! Have a wonderful day!
